Craig Lowndes has claimed a record-breaking 91st career win in the opening race of the V8 Supercars round in Perth.
The 38-year-old Holden driver overtook his Red Bull Racing teammate Jamie Whincup on the 28th lap of the 50-lap race at Barbagallo Raceway and held on for an emotional victory.
Lowndes surpassed the all-time V8 Supercars winning record 90 victories set by fellow Australian Mark Skaife, who immediately came down from his TV commentary position to congratulate the three-time series champion and five-time Bathurst winner.
